Listen for the voice of the Good Shepherd!
Lord, help us to hear the Shepherd’s voice today.
Do you know the “goodness” of the Good Shepherd?

We know the Lord is good and his love endures forever.

Almighty God, Source and Sovereign, Provider, Sustainer and Giver of all;

We praise you for your greatness and goodness;

And for your loving grip on our lives and the world.

in Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

All we like sheep have gone astray;

we have turned – everyone – to our own way;

and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

In humility and faith, let us confess together:

Merciful God, like sheep we are easily cast down,

overwhelmed with despair, fear and anxiety. Turn us around

and forgive us for failing to trust you completely.

In your mercy, lift us up and restore us

to the peace and security of following You.

We pray in the name of the Good Shepherd,

our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

       -  Spend a few moments in silent confession –

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.
As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed our transgressions.

Friends believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

Thanks be to God. Amen.

The Heidelberg Catechism, 1563, was written to teach and affirm the major truths of Scripture.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH, Heidelberg Catechism, Q. 1

What is your only comfort, in life and in death?

That I belong – body and soul, in life and in death – not to myself

but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, who at the cost of his own blood

has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed me

from the dominion of the devil; that he protects me so well

that without the will of the Father in heaven

not a hair can fall from my head;

indeed, that everything must fit his purpose for my salvation.

Therefore, by his Holy Spirit, he also assures me of eternal life,

and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.

“Perverse and foolish, oft I strayed, but yet in love He sought me,

And on His Shoulder gently laid, and home, rejoicing, brought me.”

Scripture and  Message                Psalm 23     "Good, Good Shepherd"  (click)

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Generous Lord, you call us to be faithful in both our living and our giving.

Stir our hearts to generosity as we give back to you

with deep gratitude for your sacrificial giving to us.

We pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

(Thank you for your ongoing faithfulness! You may give on-line,

mail a check to the church address, or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Have you ever spent time meditating on the names and character of the Triune God?

HYMN            “Source and Sovereign, Rock and Cloud”                                             (click)

You’ve given the gift of yourself to God in worship.

Are you resting in the green pastures of God’s love?

Will you trust the Good, Good Shepherd, even now?

Receive these good words:

God be with you till we meet again;

Loving counsels guide, uphold you,

With a Shepherd’s care enfold you;

God be with you till we meet again.
