Praise God for the gift of music!

How thankful we are for Joel Lillethun & Diane Combs’ dedication

in bringing their excellent gifts week after week for the glory of God!

The composer of this song wrote it during a time when he was feeling broken.

He says; “I needed to know that I could come and worship God just the way I was

and that He would receive me even though my life was not all together.”

     Higher, deeper, broader…is it possible to describe the greatness of God?

                                                                              from Psalm 36

Your steadfast love, O God, extends to the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies!
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains;

Your wisdom is as deep as the sea!

Almighty God, quiet our hearts and minds.

Help us to be still and know that you are God.

Give us a sense of awe and wonder

so that we may joyfully give you all glory, honor and praise.

We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Our Heavenly Father knows everything about us.

We can’t hide our thoughts, our desires, our motives or our secrets from the Lord.

And so, in humility and faith, let us confess together:

Search us, O God, and know our hearts. Test us and know our anxious thoughts.

See if there is any offensive way in us and lead us in the way everlasting.

We pray in the powerful Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

                        -  Spend a few moments in silent confession –

ASSURANCE OF PARDON         John 3:17

God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world.

But that the world, through him, might be saved.

Friends believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!

Thanks be to God. Amen.

In a world that seems to be falling apart, what can we count on?

What do we know is true? Friends, what do you believe?

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;

He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead;

He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints;

the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Catholic Father Jan Michael Joncas composed “On Eagle’s Wings” as a prayerful comfort after his friend’s father died.

Scripture and  Message   1 Corinthians 2     "What's On Your Mind?" (click)

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Generous Lord, Provider of all our needs, teach us to give

in a way that expresses our love and gratitude to you

as we seek to meet the needs of others.

In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

(You may give on-line, mail a check to the church address, or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

The words of this beautiful Irish hymn are old-fashioned yet timeless.

“Thou my best thought, by day or by night – waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.”

You’ve given the gift of yourself to God in worship…now, what have you learned?

Are you challenged to “have the mind of Christ”?

Receive these good words for the days to come:

Because the world is full of despair…go out offering HOPE.

Because the world is full of lies…go out bearing TRUTH.

Because the world can be cruel…go out demonstrating LOVE.

Because the world is overwhelmed by bad news…go out bearing God’s GOOD NEWS;

Trusting in the faithfulness of the Triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
