Today is World Communion Sunday!

Together we unite with Christ-followers around the globe

to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. Our differences of language,

culture and politics vanish as we become one in sharing Jesus’ sacred meal.

Please prepare by having your own elements ready.

(A piece of bread or a cracker and a sip of juice or water will be fine).

¨Happy Birthday: Nink Swift, Mike McKinney, Clyde Reece, Marti Peithman and Ron Tingle

¨Please pray for: Ian Hutchison, Howard Kline, Becky Bender, Alex Robb,

Hal & Eunice Ward, Barbara Phillips and for one another.

Hunger pangs remind us to eat food each day.

Do we also crave the daily bread of God’s nourishing Word?

Throughout God’s world this day, Christ-followers celebrate Communion as one family.

Our sisters and brothers in Africa, Europe, South America, Asia and in every land

join together in sharing the bread of life and the cup of salvation.

In Christ there is no East or West, in him no South or North,

But one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide earth!

God Most High, in humility and gratitude

we recognize you are with us right now.

Prayer hearing, heart stirring, mind sharpening Lord;

we set aside this time to praise you and give you glory.

We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,

that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

Merciful God, although you made all people in your image,

we confess our sin of living with deep divisions.

Although you sent Jesus to be Savior of the world,

we confess we treat him as our own tribal god.

Forgive us for failing to live in unity with you and one another.

Heal and renew us for the sake of your Son and our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen.

      -  Spend a few moments in silent confession –

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,

but in order that the world might be saved through him.

Friends believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven!

Thanks be to God. Amen.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, what do you believe?

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven

and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins;

the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Open my eyes, that I may see glimpses of truth you have for me,

place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free.

Silently now I wait for Thee, ready, our God, your will to see,

Open my eyes; illumine me, Spirit divine!

SCRIPTURE & MESSAGE    “Press On”        Philippians 3:7-14         (click)

We celebrate the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper once a month.

All who believe in Christ Jesus are invited!

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Lift up your hearts.

We lift them to the Lord

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

God has faithfully provided for the needs of this church and we are so grateful.

Thank you for your faithful giving, especially during these months apart.

O Lord, we dedicate these gifts, your tithes and our offerings,

to be used in ways we can’t even imagine here in your church,

this community, and around the world.

We pray in your Holy Name. Amen.

(You may give on-line, mail a check to the church address, or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Only Christ is able to bring all sorts of people together “in one great fellowship of love”

Remember your calling to represent Christ wherever you are.

You go nowhere by accident!

Wherever you are – God has a purpose in you being there.

Christ who lives in you has something he wants to do through you where you are.

Believe it and go in his grace and power!
