Come, Holy Spirit, our Helper; that we may have an Advocate.

Come, Holy Spirit, our Sustainer; that we may feel your breath of life.

Come, Holy Spirit, our Counselor; that we may know the right path.

Come, Holy Spirit our Intercessor; that we may pray even without words.

Come, Holy Spirit our Comforter; that we may know your warmth and love.

Come, Holy Spirit our Source of Power; that we may boldly share your greatness.

Gracious and Loving God, we praise you for being with each one of us this day.

Though physically separated, we give you glory for gathering your people together, spiritually.

Together we lift our hearts in loving devotion and praise,

praying in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

How can the HOLY Spirit work in us and through us

if we have not confessed our sin and self-centeredness?

In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

Almighty God, you poured out your Spirit upon gathered disciples, creating a bold community of faith.

We confess we hold back the power of your Spirit among us.

We are nervous about being bold, open and new.

O Lord, have mercy on us.

Fill us with a burning desire to be your faithful people.

Transform us by the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.

-        Spend a few moments in silent confession –

By the power of the Holy Spirit and the deep love of the Father through our Lord Jesus…

Friends believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!

Thanks be to God. Amen.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH   from the Heidelberg Catechism

What do you believe concerning “the Holy Spirit”?

First, that, with the Father and the Son, the Spirit is equally eternal God;

Second, that God’s Spirit is also given to me,

preparing me through a true faith to share in Christ and all his benefits;

that he comforts me and will abide with me forever.

And now, as people who are loved and forgiven by the grace of God,

we pass the peace of Christ, remembering God’s command to love and forgive one another.

The peace of Christ be with you!

SCRIPTURE & MESSAGE      “Pentecost Power”          Acts 2:1-12                (click)

                              with Beth & Rick Johnson, Linda & Charlie Cox, Judi & Dave Crane

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Giving is so much more than collecting money to pay the bills and fund our ministries.

When we give, we are offering our love to God and the Church. Giving is an act of worship.

May our generous Lord bless these gifts and each giver.

(You may give on-line, mail a check to the church address, or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host.

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Now to Him who by the power at work within us

is able to accomplish abundantly far more than we can ask or imagine,

to Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus to all generations,

forever and ever. Amen.
