CALL TO WORSHIP   Psalm 16:7-9

Come, bless the Lord who guides us,

whose wise teaching directs our days

and focuses our minds at night;

whose presence sustains us and surrounds us here.

We bless the Lord who is present among us.

We will not be shaken or live in fear

but will sing God’s praise and worship with joy!

PRAYER OF ADORATION

Almighty God, we praise you for the freedom to worship you today.

Enable us to put aside all the uncertainty of this world

and instead rest in you with gratitude and joy.

In the Name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

CALL TO CONFESSION

God already knows everything about you,

yet our Lord longs for you to admit your failures

so that you will be restored and forgiven.

In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

Holy and Merciful God, in your presence we confess our sinfulness,

our shortcomings, and our offenses against you.

You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways,

in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy on us, O Lord,

for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you.

Forgive our sins, and help us to live in your light,

and walk in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

-        Spend a few moments in silent confession –

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

Hear the good news! Who is in a position to condemn?

Only Christ, and Christ died for us,

Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us and Christ prays for us.

Friends believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!

 Thanks be to God. Amen.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH   from the Book of Common Prayer

Do you believe and trust in God the Father, source of all being and life, the one for whom we exist?

I believe and trust in him.
Do you believe and trust in God the Son, who took our human nature,

died for us and rose again?

I believe and trust in him.
Do you believe and trust in God the Holy Spirit, who gives life to the people of God

and makes Christ known in the world?

I believe and trust in him.
This is the faith of the Church.

This is our faith.

We believe and trust in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

PASSING THE PEACE

As God’s dearly loved people, we pass the peace of Christ

demonstrating our call to dearly love one another.

The peace of Christ be with you!

LORDS’ PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
