GATHERING MUSIC       “Come, Now is the Time to Worship”  Joel & singers    (click on image to view)

CALL TO WORSHIP    from Psalm 66
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!”
Blessed be the Lord, because he has not rejected our prayers or removed his steadfast love.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!

Almighty God, as we gather spiritually we remember we are bound together

by the love of Christ to all Christ followers here and around the world.

With humble hearts we bow before you, Holy God of the Universe,

giving you all honor and glory and praise.

We pray in the power of the Name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

Every day the Lord pours out his love for us by his saving grace and sustaining power.

And every day we fail to demonstrate our love and gratitude.
In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

Merciful and Holy God, Forgive us for all the times we feel abandoned and alone,

when we fail to notice your abiding presence with us.

Forgive us for failing to see the wonder of who you are:

Creator, Redeemer, Savior, Helper and Counselor.

Forgive our sad attempts at running our own lives,

instead of resting in your perfect will.

We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

-  - - -   Spend a few moments in silent confession - - -

God who is faithful and just, promises to completely forgive us

when we confess our sins and failures. Friends believe the Good News.

In Jesus Christ we are forgiven! Thanks be to God. Amen.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH   from a Brief Statement of Faith
We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life.
The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith,
sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and our neighbor,
and binds us together with all believers in one body of Christ, the Church.
In a fearful and broken world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing,
To witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior,
To unmask idolatries in Church and culture,
To hear the voices of peoples long silenced,
And to work with others for justice, freedom and peace.
In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit,
We strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives,
Even as we watch for God’s new heaven and new earth, praying, “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Because the Spirit of the Lord is in us, and we in him,

his peace is a powerful gift to share with others.

Will you pass the blessing of God’s peace this week?
The peace of Christ be with you!

SCRIPTURE & MESSAGE    “The Helper”   John 14: 15-27         (click on image to view)

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

HYMN             “Spirit, Spirit of Gentleness”        (click on image to view))

God longs for us to be faithful in both our living and our giving.

Let’s live and give cheerfully, generously and sacrificially.
Generous Lord; we dedicate these gifts, your tithes and our offerings,

as an investment in your Eternal Kingdom.

Bless and multiply them according to your perfect will. Amen.
Thank you, thank you for your ongoing faithfulness!

(You may give on-line, mail a check to the church address, or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host.
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

God be with you till we meet again;
Loving counsels guide, uphold you,
With a shepherd’s care enfold you;
God be with you till we meet again.
