March 22 Service

WELCOME to Worship!

You are invited to a new website worship experience, created to help us lift up our eyes to the hills, remembering our help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth!

Please continue to be in prayer for Howard Kline, Becky Bender, Wayne MacDonald and for one another.

God is with you right where you are.

Sing or read the words of this song as we focus our hearts and minds today:

Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true.
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living, sanctuary for You.

CALL TO WORSHIP     from Psalm 103

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me,

Bless His Holy Name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits –

Who forgives all your sin, who heals all your diseases,

Who redeems your life from the Pit,

Who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,

Who satisfies you with good as long as you live

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Bless the Lord, O my soul.

HYMN      “Sing Praise to God Who Reigns Above” (Read or sing these words!)

Sing praise to God who reigns above, the God of all creation,

The God of power, the God of love, the God of our salvation.

With healing balm my soul is filled, and every faithless murmur stilled:

To God all praise and glory!

What God’s almighty power has made God’s gracious mercy keepeth;

By morning glow or evening shade God’s watchful eye ne’er sleepeth.

Within the kingdom of God’s might, lo! all is just and all is right:

To God all praise and glory!

The Lord is never far away, but, through all grief distressing,

An ever-present help and stay, our peace and joy and blessing,

As with a mother’s tender hand God gently leads the chosen band:

To God all praise and glory!

Thus all my toilsome way along I sing aloud thy praises,

That all may hear the grateful song my voice unwearied raises.

Be joyful in the Lord, my heart; both soul and body, take your part:

To God all praise and glory!

Sovereign God, we lay down our worries and instead rest and rejoice in you.

For you alone are worthy of our worship.

We lift you up this day, praising and adoring you with grateful hearts.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sin, God, who is faithful and just, will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

O Lord, when our comfortable lives are turned upside-down, we are undone. We are quickly overwhelmed with stress and fear and worry. We want so badly to have control that we turn inward and selfish. O Lord, forgive us! Open our blind eyes to see you and know you as you reveal yourself to us in new ways. We pray in the power of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Spend a few moments in prayer, asking the Lord to reveal the ways you’ve failed to be faithful.

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed our transgressions.

Friends believe the Good News! In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
Thanks be to God. Amen.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH       from the Heidelburg Catechism, Q. 26

What do you believe when you say: “I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth?”

That the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who out of nothing created heaven and earth with all that is in them, who also upholds and governs them by his eternal counsel and providence, is for the sake of Christ his Son my God and my Father. I trust in him so completely that I have no doubt that he will provide me with all things necessary for body and soul. Moreover, whatever evil he sends upon me in this troubled life he will turn to my good, for he is able to do it, being Almighty God, and is determined to do it, being a faithful Father.

In his mercy God forgives us, even though we don’t deserve it.

And with that forgiveness, comes God’s gift of peace.

What if you offered forgiveness to someone “who doesn’t deserve it”?

Perhaps a relative or friend comes to mind.

Isn’t that how we truly “pass the peace” of Christ?

MESSAGE - Listen to Pastor Holly by clicking on the photo.

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

As you know, giving is part of worship. Not only does the church have ongoing financial needs, we also need to honor our commitments in supporting all our mission ministries.  Giving your tithes and offerings demonstrates your trust in God, even when the future is unknown.

Please continue to be faithful. You may give on-line through our website or mail a check to the church address.

And may God bless the gift and the giver!

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.

Praise Him, all creatures her below;

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host.

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Go in the grace of the Lord.

Walk in the way of His Word.

Stand in the strength of his promises,

And believe in you heart they are true.

Sit at the feet of the Savior.

Pray in the power of the Spirit.

Rise and run the race with patience,

And go in the grace of the Lord.

Go in hope, God’s hope.

Go in peace, God’s peace.

Go in joy, everlasting joy,

As you live in the fullness of His love.

Go in the grace of the Lord.
