Description: Built in the early 1930’s and located within the historic district of Waynesville, NC. The house is currently owned by the First Presbyterian Church of Waynesville. The house is a two-story Colonial Revival-style and features a gambrel roof with a flared, broken pitch in the lower roof slope, engaged partial-width porch, shed dormers, stuccoed interior chimney, and replacement one-over-one windows. The house has been covered with aluminum siding. The single-leaf glazed-and-paneled entry door is flanked by multilight sidelights. The house is over 3,000 square feet heated. The first-floor layout consists of a large kitchen, dining room, living room, study and full bathroom. The house also consists of a large front foyer with a beautiful open staircase leading to the second floor. The second-floor layout includes four nicely sized bedrooms and a full bathroom. Special features of the house include oak hardwood flooring throughout the first floor including the open staircase and the second story hallway. The second-story bedrooms have heart pine flooring. In addition, there are beautiful French doors at the entry of the dining room, the living room and the study. Some of the light fixtures date to the 1930’s.
Special Conditions: The house is no longer needed by the church but the land is needed. Therefore, the contractor will be required to move the house. A house moving company has confirmed that it is possible to move the house. The contractor will also be required to obtain any special permits, permissions and be responsible for all aspects of the move. The contractor is responsible for removing all components of the house above ground excluding the masonry foundation. The church will be responsible for removing all the masonry and the lot reconditioning including fill and compaction. Moving the house to another lot in the historic district is preferred but not required.
