CALL TO WORSHIP
As people who forget whose we are…come and worship the Father and Creator of all.
In a world that loses its’ direction…come and worship God who shows us the Way.
In times of disappointment, sorrow and loss…come and worship God who never lets us go.
In times of joy and gladness…come and worship God, for great is God’s faithfulness!
PRAYER OF ADORATION
Almighty God, Creator of heaven and earth,
Even the trees of the field clap their praise and the rocks cry out in adoration.
May our hearts simply overflow with love and gratitude as we worship you –
today and every day. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
CALL TO CONFESSION
Search us, O God, and know our hearts; test us and know our anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in us and lead us in the way everlasting.
In humility and faith, let’s confess together:
Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed,
by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart;
we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent,
for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us;
that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
-- Spend a few moments in silent confession –
ASSURANCE OF PARDON
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end;
They are new every morning; great is God’s faithfulness!
Brothers and sisters, believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!
Thanks be to God. Amen.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH from The Heidelberg Catechism
Why has Christ commanded us to address God: “Our Father”?
That at the very beginning of our prayer he may awaken in us
the childlike reverence and trust toward God which should be the motivation of our prayer,
which is that God has become our Father through Christ
and will much less deny us what we ask him in faith
than our human fathers will refuse us earthly things.
PASSING THE PEACE 2 Corinthians 13:11
“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration,
encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace.
And the God of love and peace will be with you.”
The peace of Christ be with you!
