We gather today thanking and praising God for our freedom to worship.

We draw near to our Lord, Sovereign Ruler of all nations and all people.

Come, let us bow in allegiance before Almighty God!

Almighty God, Creator of all, we come before you this morning

immensely grateful for a new day to rejoice in you.

Who are we to question your ways? You are the God of all Ages,

before the world began you were there.

And so, we humbly praise you with

our whole hearts, now and forever! In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive us,

and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

Gracious God, our sins are too heavy to carry, too real to hide, and too deep to undo.

Forgive what our lips tremble to name, what our hearts can no longer bear,

and what has become for us a consuming fire of judgment.

Set us free from a past that we cannot change;

open to us a future in which we can be changed;

and grant us grace to grow more and more in your likeness and image,

through Jesus Christ, the light of the world. Amen.

-- Spend a few moments in silent confession –

The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting.

As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed our transgressions.

Friends,  believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, our sins are forgiven!

Thanks be to God. Amen.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH, The Heidelberg Catechism, Q. 126

What is the fifth petition?
“And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
That is: be pleased, for the sake of Christ’s blood, not to charge to us, miserable sinners,

our many transgressions, nor the evil which still clings to us.

We also find this witness of thy grace in us,

that it is our sincere intention heartily to forgive our neighbor.

How we miss seeing and greeting one another in our beautiful sanctuary each week.

Let’s claim God’s gift of peace, a peace beyond our understanding.

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

The peace of Christ be with you!

SCRIPTURE & MESSAGE   "Forgiven!"   Psalm 103:1-12   (click)

The Lord be with you.

And also with you.

Life up your hearts;

We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name.

Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, forever.

Let’s continue our worship by giving cheerfully and generously with grateful hearts.

O Lord, we dedicate these gifts, your tithes and our offerings,

to be used for your glory here in your church, this community,

and around the world.

We pray in your Holy Name. Amen.

Thank you for your faithful, ongoing support of the work of the church.

(You may give on-line, mail a check to the church address,

or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

BENEDICTION                                                                           Dr. Richard C. Halverson

You go nowhere by accident!

Wherever you are – God has a purpose in you being there.

Christ who lives in you

has something he wants to do through you where you are.

Believe it and go in his grace and power!
