CALL TO WORSHIP        from Psalm 71

We worship and praise you, O Lord.

You have made us see many troubles and calamities;

Yet we trust in you, our hope and our strong refuge.

Since birth we have leaned upon you;

now and forever we worship and praise you, O Lord.

Gracious God, we praise and thank you for this new day!

Give us expectant hearts as we acknowledge your presence.

Gather our scattered minds and turn our focus to you,

For you alone are worthy of our praise and adoration.
We pray in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

All we like sheep have gone astray; each of us has turned our own way.

But the Lord has laid on Jesus the iniquities of us all.

In humility and faith, let’s confess together:

Merciful God, we admit our struggle with fear and anxiety in these uncertain days.

Forgive our complaining. Forgive our ungodly thoughts and words.

Forgive us for failing to trust in your greater purpose and unseen activity in the world.

Cleanse us and renew us through the grace of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

                   -  Spend a few moments in silent confession –

By the power of the Spirit, the deep love of the Father,

and through the great sacrifice of our Lord Jesus,

believe the Good News. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven!

Thanks be to God. Amen.

Since the 5th Century, Christ-followers have affirmed their faith

by saying the Apostles’ Creed together. Friends, what do you believe?

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,

born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,

was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven

and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;

the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins;

the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

The peace of Christ be with you!

Almighty and Holy God,

We praise you and thank you for the privilege of humbly coming before you in prayer.

We pray for the world because you so love the world.

Grant wisdom to the leaders of every nation.

Pour out your comfort on each person who suffers from hunger,

poverty, injustice, persecution, violence, oppression and abuse.

We pray for healing from Covid-19.

We pray for healing from the disease of hatred and division.

O Lord, you see our weariness of disease, evil and the brokenness of this world.

You understand our struggles. Keep us in a leaning posture of trust

and restore our joy as we fellowship with you.

In all these things we pray for your will, as you taught your disciples to pray, saying:

Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil:

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Generous Lord, Provider of all our needs, teach us to give in a way that expresses

our love and gratitude to you as we seek to meet the needs of others.

In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.

(You may give on-line, mail a check to the church address, or drop it in the church mailbox).

Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

May the peace of God which passes all understanding

keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God;

and of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

And the blessing of God Almighty, Father, Son and Holy Spirit

be among you and remain with you, always.
